The Accommodation |
De Friese Antillen comprises a court of 8 holiday homes on the border of the cosy village Hollum, on the island Ameland. This island is often called the Diamond of the Wadden Islands for its abundance in peace, quiet and fresh air. This, along with the hospitable inhabitants gives it a special charm. The Friese Antillen lies on a picturesque street with typical Dutch houses, most of them from the 18th century or even older. The beach is 800 meters from the houses, the village and its restaurants, bars and shops at walking distance as well (200 meters). The cottages have been fully refurbished in November 2007, and can sleep up to 4 people.

Recreation |
Thanks to the cool North Sea the island has less rain than the main land, and the number of hours the sun shines is higher. Ninety kilometres of cycle paths wander around the ever changing but always typical Dutch landscape of dunes, meadows, woods and dykes. Those who prefer to walk can choose from an array of routes that will lead to the most unique places of the island. Ameland has no less than 27 kilometres of beach, by far the largest attraction of the island. On the recreational parks De Vleijen en De Aanleg children can play, splash, climb and clamber. Playful bridges of rope and other materials lead from one playground to the other. Ameland has a lot to offer for people who seek peace as well as those who seek action, and for all ages!
